Dejavoo | Update the Date & Time
Summary:
This guide explains how to adjust the date, time, and time zone on Dejavoo Z-Line and QD-Line devices, & DVpay light. Instructions include both touchscreen and non-touch models, covering manual and automatic time settings.
This guide covers the following topics:
- Update Date & Time on QD-Line Touch Screen Models
- Update Date & Time on All Z-Line Models
- Military Time Conversion Chart
- Invalid POS on DV Pay Light
- Transaction Authorization: Payment networks validate the timestamp of each transaction. Incorrect time can trigger declines or "invalid transaction" errors, and processors may reject transactions that appear to be from the future or too far in the past.
- Batch Settlement Accuracy: Settlement files rely on correct timestamps. An incorrect date or time may cause batch settlement failures and can lead to duplicate batches, mismatched totals, or delayed funding.
- Security Requirements: Enforced by card brands and processors. Accurate time is required for tokenization, encryption checks, and security certificate validation. Incorrect clocks may cause terminals to fail security handshakes.
- Reporting Accuracy: Daily reports, summaries, and audit logs rely on accurate timestamps. Incorrect time leads to confusing or inaccurate reports and makes reconciliation more difficult for merchants and accounting teams.
