Important Notes

Once a payment flow has been built for a software, it becomes available to all users.

Critical Notes:
  • There are multiple versions of on-prem Dentrix. POS+ supports v25.16.x, v25.21, and v26.x. Additional versions may require development. Partners are responsible for the development costs needed to support any additional version.
  • POS+ currently reconciles as payment type "Online Payment- Thank You". This type must be created in Dentrix.
  • For reconciliation, other Dentrix applications should be closed. For payment link creation, other applications can remain open.

Integration Type

This integration requires the On-Prem to be installed and active within your supported browser.

Add Payment Type

Important:

To complete the reconciliation in Dentrix, add a new payment type. You can use either "POS+" or "Online Payment- Thank You", or check if one of them already exists in the list. If both are available, "POS+" is preferred.

Please note:

  • There is a space at the beginning of the name.
  • There is no space after the word Payment (it is written as Payment-, not Payment -).

To add this payment type, please use Office Manager: 

  1. Launch Dentrix Office Manager 
  2. In the Office Manager, click Maintenance, point to Practice Setup, and then click Definitions.
    1. The Practice Definitions dialog box appears.

  3. From the Definition Type list, select Payment Types.

  4. Add payment type “POS+”.

Support

    1. Moving the mouse or typing on the keybound while POS+ is running a payment activity might cause POS+ to fail. Therefore, inform the merchant not to engage in these activities while running a transaction through POS+. If the transaction fails, simply retry the operation and remove hands from the mouse and keyboard for a few seconds.  
    2. If the user’s machine is too slow, POS+ might timeout waiting for a user’s activity. While we have never seen this in practice, it is possible that people are running 20+ year old machines and the machine is simply incapable of running a POS+ integration.  
    3. Ensure the user’s Dentrix version is supported by POS+. 
    4. Firewalls can prevent the POS+ executable from installing. Please consult with the customer’s network personnel to overcome any obstacles.
