Settle a pre-authorization (preauth) — Valor (Terminal & Portal)
This article explains how to settle (capture) a pre-authorization for merchants using Valor — both from the Valor terminal (on-site) and from the Valor portal (online).
- Valor Terminal (on-site): Use this method when the merchant is physically at the terminal and the original pre-authorization was taken on that device.
- Valor Portal (online): Use this method when the transaction appears in the merchant's online Valor portal, such as for remote pre-authorizations or when the merchant cannot access the device.
