PAX A800: How to Install a SIM Card

Open the SIM Card Compartment

Locate the SIM compartment on the device.

Gently lift the compartment lid by pulling it upward.
2. Unlock the SIM Card Tray

Inside, you will see a small sliding SIM tray.

Slide the tray to the left to release the lock.

Once unlocked, lift the tray upward to open it.
3. Prepare the SIM Card

Remove the SIM card from its full-size holder, leaving only the nano-SIM.

Ensure the notched (indented) corner is positioned correctly — it should be on the bottom-left when inserting.
4. Insert the SIM Card

Place the SIM card into the tray with the gold contacts facing downward.

Ensure the card sits flat and securely in the tray.
5. Lock the SIM Tray

Push the tray back down to close it.

Press and slide the tray to the right to lock it into place.

Confirm the tray is fully closed and secure.
6. Access APN Settings

Tap Settings.

Enter the password (default is often 9876 or pax9876, unless changed).

Navigate to:

Got to Wireless & Networks (or Connections)

Tap Mobile Networks

Select Access Point Names (APN)

7. Add or Edit APN

Tap Add New APN (or select an existing APN to edit).

Enter the carrier-provided details provided by the SIM Carrier:

Name: att hspa+

APN: optconnect01.com.attz

Leave other fields as default unless instructed otherwise.
8. Save & Activate

Tap Save.

Select the newly created APN to activate it.

Restart the terminal.

Confirm connectivity:

Look for signal bars or 4G/LTE at the top of the screen.

Run a test transaction to verify connection.

- If the device does not recognize the SIM after installation, restart the terminal and verify the tray is fully locked.
