PAX Passwords

This article provides the default password formats used on PAX devices for both the Payment Application (Omaha or Sierra) and the Home Screen settings menu. Passwords may vary based on whether the terminal is new or has already been downloaded.

Payment Application Passwords (Omaha or Sierra)

Format:

• 8-digit date

• MMDDYYYY

This format is commonly used across PAX devices to access the payment application settings.

Home Screen Settings Passwords

New Terminals (Out of the Box)

Try the following in order:

1. pax9876@@

2. 9876

Downloaded / Deployed Terminals

Try the following in order:

1. 9876

2. pax9876@@

These credentials are typically required to access deeper device settings via the PAX system menu.
