Valor – Prompt for Customer Name on Sale

Issue

A merchant reports that their Valor terminal is prompting for a customer name when attempting to process a sale.

Example Message

The terminal prompts the user to enter a customer name before completing the transaction.

Resolution

This prompt is typically caused by the Vault Card Saver feature being enabled on the terminal.

To disable the customer name prompt:

  • Select the three-line menu icon at the bottom of the screen.
  • Navigate to Settings.
  • Select Vault Card Saver.
  • Toggle Vault Card Saver to Off.
  • Exit the Settings menu.

Navigation Path:
3-Line Menu → Settings → Vault Card Saver → Toggle Off

Verification

After disabling the setting, have the merchant run a test sale to confirm the terminal no longer prompts for the customer's name.
